It's The End Of The World As We Know It, But I Feel Fine

While the rest of the world was buzzing today, sharing portentous talks of N Korean missiles and nuclear warfare, my family and I decided to reflect on simpler times and took a trip out to the Korean Folk Village.  The process of historically contextualizing pieces of the Korean culture in a setting such as this sparked a keen sense of cultural curiosity in me.  I found myself sort of marveling at my surroundings and ascertaining a true grandeur in the heritage of my people.  Plus, it was actually a lot of fun.  Case in point (and this is super cute)...

My mom and my aunt playing on the old-school Korean see-saw

Traditional Korean drumming and dance
This guy was the main event because as you can see, his ribbon is all extra-long compared to the first set of men.

The folk village was quite picturesque.  I even snuck in a photo of mom and dad...

And of course, I managed to amuse myself somehow

Lastly, on your way out, they have this wishing stone.  You write your wish on a piece of paper and then tie it to the stone.  I suppose there are a lot of folks out there who could use a little help from someone or somewhere -- I'd have to count myself in with that bunch. Guess what I wished for?
Duh!  If I tell you, it might not come true!  Heehee.
